Technician - Brooke Carnes

brooke Brooke Carnes is in the process of obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Psychology and minor in Women's and Gender Studies from Wright State University. She will be graduating in the spring of 2021 and has been working in the field since 2019. 

Brooke completed a year long internship at Sycamore Hospital where she worked under Dr. Shaw at the Sleep Disorder Clinic. At the sleep clinic, she gained understanding of EEG technology and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia which included a focus in mindfulness techniques.

Brooke went on to received specialized supervision and training with quanitiative EEG analysis and neurofeedback training from Christen H. Stahl, MA, BCN, Neurofeedback specialist. During  the past year, she has successfully guided numerous clients through the neurofeedback program; this includes conducting initial and final QEEG assessments and providing  neurofeedback training.

Brooke shows special interest in the adolescent population and has worked closely with children since 2018 at Mini University. There she utilized Conscious Discipline techniques such as self-regulation, with children from the ages of two to five years old. She is trained in Early Learning for ECE, Child Abuse Recognition and Prevention, Social Emotional Learning and Child Guidance, Ohio's Approach to Quality, Ohio's Overview of Child Development, Communicable Disease, Pediatric CPR, and Pediatric First Aid.

Brooke plans to expand her education at a graduate program that focuses on clinical psychology in the fall of 2021.
